Alkali-activated Portland cement with adjustable proper deformations for anchoring application

Abstract: The application of alkali-activated Portland cement (hereinafter AAPC) for anchoring grouts was investigated with obtaining of non-shrinking high performance cementing systems. The AAPC system “ordinary Portland cement clinker – sodium metasilicate” was modified by the complexes of mineral and organic compounds to ensure specified properties of anchoring grouts. It was revealed that the most effective multifunctional additives are represented by the system “salt-electrolyte – surfactant”. Alongside with slowin… Show more

“…Compatibility of AACs with aliphatic organic compounds (polyols, polyesters, ethoxylated fat alcohols, salts of carbon acids etc.) as surfactants with plasticizing effect was demonstrated [13,14,15]. Surfactants can be used to ensure low water consumption with decrease in the surface tension of porous fluid.…”

“…Knowledge of physical and chemical properties of substances such indicators of quality, the mechanism of action of the materials allows you to make their choice on the basis of economic performance, duration and application security, environmental aspects, etc. [2,3]. And the application allows protection to maintain their function when operating within a specified period of time [4][5][6].…”

“…There are data on the effective disposal of radioactive waste [19], as well as wastewater [20], when making safe building materials based on the alkali-activated types of cement. The principles were proposed for the reasonable selection of modifying admixtures for different functional purposes for concrete based on the alkaline-activated types of cement (plasticizers [21], redispersion polymeric powders [22], aimed at reducing the deformities of shrinkage [23], expandable admixtures [24]). This explains the widespread use of the alkaline-activated slag types of cement in modern concrete and mortars.…”
