All-Aqueous Direct Deposition of Fragrance-Loaded Nanoparticles onto Fabric Surfaces by Electrospraying

Abstract: Encapsulation of bioactive aroma compounds into nanostructured matrixes has emerged as an attractive means to prolong the longevity of perfumery products. Existing technologies applied for fragrance micro/nanoencapsulation primarily rely on wet chemical processes, which suffer from some drawbacks such as the tedious preparation involving emulsion formulations and possible contamination of residual additives. Herein, we proposed an all-aqueous electrospraying method to prepare composite nanoparticles made up of… Show more

“…The fragrances were released with zero-order kinetics, guaranteeing a low rate and constant release profile. Noticeably, the composite nanospheres were retained at a higher percentage (more than 80%) after 10 runs of washing with water, demonstrating its applicability in the textile field [ 113 ].…”

“…The application of microencapsulation technology not only avoids the drawbacks and shortcomings of the direct application of dyes or special functional materials but also achieves effects that cannot be achieved by direct processing. 25,26 As an emerging nano-microencapsulation technology, nanofibers prepared by electrospinning based on silk fibroin solution have been used as potential carriers for fragrance and drug delivery. [26][27][28][29] In particular, electrospinning nanofibers have been widely used in bone tissue engineering [30][31][32] nerve tissue engineering, 33,34 skin tissue engineering [35][36][37] and angiogenesis promotion.…”
