Abstract:This research presents the first-ever demonstration of a passively Q-switched fiber laser in the 1.5 μm wavelength region using amorphous carbon nitride (a-CNx) as a saturable absorber (SA) in an all-fiber configuration. The a-CNx thin film was prepared using plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition.
