All-fiberized amorphous carbon nitride (a-CNx) based passive Q-switcher

Abstract: This research presents the first-ever demonstration of a passively Q-switched fiber laser in the 1.5 μm wavelength region using amorphous carbon nitride (a-CNx) as a saturable absorber (SA) in an all-fiber configuration. The a-CNx thin film was prepared using plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition. The laser operation showed remarkable stability, achieving a repetition rate of 57.99 kHz and a pulse duration of 1.36 μs at maximum input pump power.
