Abstract:Acquired von Willebrand syndrome (AVWS) is a relatively infrequent but often overlooked finding when testing for von Willebrand factor (VWF) levels in a patient with mucocutaneous bleeding. Known causes include cardiovascular disorders, hematologic and solid tumors, autoimmune disorders, hypothyroidism, and drugs.
