In this research article, the objective of the work is to maximize the performance of solar pump based on input variables. The solar panel and motor pump set are the important parts of solar pump. The overall performance of the solar pump has been depending on the performance of solar panels and motor pump set. The tilt angle, surface azimuth angle, module temperature and speed of motor are most important input parameters on which whole performance of solar pump depends. So, for fulling these objectives a 5 hp (horsepower) solar pump has been installed in FET MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly located at 28.36° N, 79.43° E. The experimental data of output parameters at the different settings of input parameters and data generated by model equations have been optimized by the Response Surface Methodology (RSM) tool of Design of Experiments (DOE). The optimum setting of input parameters are Tilt Angle (TA) (36.22°), Surface Azimuth Angle (SA) (−1.26°), Module Temperature (MT), and speed of the motor (2169.69 RPM). On the optimum setting of input parameters, the values of the response are maximum Solar Flux (SF) (762 W/m2), maximum power output (3661.4578 W), minimum discharge (19.2681 m3/h), head developed (55.17 m), maximum motor efficiency (90.7488%), maximum exergetic efficiency (15.3799%), minimum Levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) (0.0361 $/KWh), maximum panel efficiency (17.1774%) and maximum overall efficiency (15.0117%).

Bioindication of Environmental Conditions Using Solar Park Vegetation

Solar parks are currently considered a new source of carbon-free energy. At the same time, they encroach on our landscape and create new conditions for flora and fauna. Vegetation responds to changes in living conditions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the changes in soil conditions induced by solar parks using vegetation bioindicators. A vegetation assessment was carried out in a solar park located in the cadastral territory of the municipality of Unín (Czech Republic). Among the soil conditions observed, this study focused on soil moisture, pH, nitrogen availability, phosphorus availability, and salinity. A total of 77 taxa of vascular plants were identified. Based on the bioindication of vegetation, it can be concluded that there are changes in the conditions between sites under photovoltaic panels (PV) and between rows of PV panels. Under PV panels, species with extreme values of the monitored soil criteria have a higher representation. These species can tolerate salinity, deficiency, or excess nitrogen and phosphorus. Different conditions under PV panels lead to diversity in species composition. This results in significant fragmentation of solar couplet vegetation. However, extreme conditions may create room for invasive plant species to establish themselves. Thus, it is necessary to monitor changes in vegetation, especially under PV panels, in the following years. The characterization of environmental conditions based on vegetation biomonitoring shows the diversity of solar park conditions. Diverse conditions are also important for landscape fragmentation.

The challenge of providing water, energy, food, and managing the environment (WEFEN) is widely recognized as a significant barrier to global advancement in light of the increasing population. The interconnections among water, energy, food, and the environment constitute a comprehensive framework for achieving sustainability. Based on projections, it is anticipated that the global community will encounter crises pertaining to water, energy, food, and the environment in the foreseeable future. The objective of this paper is to analyze global research endeavors pertaining to the interconnections among water, energy, food, and the environment. Additionally, it aims to address the challenges and imperatives of investigating this nexus within the context of the world. This framework aims to achieve a harmonious equilibrium by considering the diverse objectives, interests, and requirements of both human societies and the natural environment. The correlation established by WEFEN has the potential to provide valuable insights for informing future global sustainable development policies in relation to environmental and water crises. This review study critically analyzes the existing body of research pertaining to the interplay between water, energy, food, and the environment in Iran and globally. Additionally, it highlights the challenges encountered in studying this intricate relationship and underscores the imperative for further investigation in this domain. This study reveals that the main barriers to achieving global integration of water, energy, food, and the environment are sector‐specific policies and a dearth of integrated management approaches. The findings of this study encompass recommendations for enhancing the interplay between water, energy, food, and the environment. Additionally, establishing a dedicated policy‐making institution and reaching a consensus on a comprehensive plan are crucial steps. Furthermore, it is imperative to develop and enhance the infrastructure of the clearing market to address pertinent matters effectively.
