Abstract: Alpha-gal syndrome is an acquired disease ranging from gastrointestinal discomfort to anaphylaxis, an acute, life-threatening allergic reaction. Susceptible individuals have high-risk vocations or hobbies that involve outdoor activities where tick populations are overabundant.
