Abstract:Platelet α-granules have numerous proteins, some synthesized by megakaryocytes (MK) and others not synthesized but incorporated by endocytosis, an incompletely understood process in platelets/MK. Germline RUNX1 haplodeficiency, referred to as familial platelet defect with predisposition to myeloid malignancies (FPDMM), is associated with thrombocytopenia, platelet dysfunction and granule deficiencies. In previous studies, we found that platelet albumin, fibrinogen and IgG levels were decreased in a FPDMM patie… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
