“…According to the Global Ecovillage Network, a representative organization of the International Ecovillage Movement was established in 1995, and as of now, there have been more than 1000 registered eco-villages worldwide [11], e.g., Earthaven Eco-Village in the United States, Crystal Waters Eco-Village in Australia, Gaia Eco-Village in Argentina, and Munkesoegaard Eco-Village in Denmark [12]. These cases indicate that eco-villages are a new type of ecological community that advocates for sustainable development in ecology, economy, culture, and society, with a core concept of a low environmental impact [9].…”
