We expose the current experimental and theoretical situation of the interesting case of the production of φ mesons in up to very high energy collisions of hadrons on both nucleon and nuclear targets, and we present a quantitavely good theoretical description of the corresponding experimental data, based on the formalism of the well established Quark-Gluon String Model, that has proved to be valid for a wide energy range. All the available experimental data for φ-meson production in hadron-nucleon collisions on the spectra of secondary φ, and on the ratios of φ/π − and φ/K − production cross sections, as well the corresponding ones for φ-meson production on nuclear targets, are considered. In particular, it is seen that the production of φ-mesons on nuclear targets presents unusually small shadow corrections for the inclusive density in the central rapidity region.

Food colorants are categorized into natural and synthetic dyes. One of the famous synthetic food dyes is Sunset Yellow FCF (E110) which belongs to the family of azo dyes and widely used in food industry. However, Sunset Yellow has positive and negative effects as well, by giving attractive physical appearance and consumer acceptance. At the same time, it can cause as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), is a group of behavioural symptoms that include inattentiveness, hyperactivity and impulsiveness, cancer and some other health effects with an excess consumption. Due to the arising of the health issues for mankind, researchers should give more priority to develop advance techniques for determination of Sunset Yellow in food and beverage products. The main aim of this review paper is critically discussed on the acceptable daily intake (ADI), toxicology, extraction methods, and analytical and electrochemical sensor methods for determination of Sunset Yellow.

Background: Organic dyes are used for a wide variety of purposes including their applications in textiles, foods, printing cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Thus, these are industrially very important and their analysis is always required before putting to particular use. Methods: To develop the extremely efficient thin layer chromatographic system for the resolution of co-existing dyes, the silica gel was modified with the conducting polymer polyaniline. Silica gel and polyaniline modified silica gel were used as stationary phase while the different formulations based on aqueous solutions of ionic liquids such as 1-methyl-imidazolium chloride, 1,2,3-trimethylimidazolium methyl sulphate and 1-ethyl 3-methyl-imidazolium tetrafluoroborate were used as mobile phase to study the migration behaviour of organic dyes.
