Abstract

Operating rooms, where professional groups from different disciplines work, are areas that require fast and accurate decision-making, where tools of different technology are used. Protein and other organic substances are broken down in the tissue exposed to high heat during the surgical procedure and rise with the evaporated water. The content of surgical smoke varies according to the technique of the procedure and the size of the treated tissue. Surgical smoke containing toxic substances settles in different areas in the respiratory system according to the amount of particle size and causes various health problems on health workers.
