“…Counseling psychology has been called on to emphasize the role of social justice (DeBlaere et al, 2019), center the voices of minoritized students (Flores et al, 2022), and combat systems of power and oppression (e.g., anti-Blackness and white supremacy) inherent to the field while building a counseling psychology of liberation (Singh, 2020). As such, the incoming SAS cabinet (i.e., co-chairs, secretary, and treasurers) from the host institution created an additional committee, selected leadership members, and established the four pillars (i.e., Structural Well-Being; Justice, Equity, and Liberation; Community Learning and Development; and Scientist-Practitioner-Advocate) with a mind toward a counseling psychology of liberation.…”
