“…Interest in their polycrystalline film structures is primarily due to their comparatively high charge-carrier mobility [18], intense red and near IR absorbance, and high thermal and photo stabilities [19,20]. Additionally, MPc films may be deposited from either their vapor phase or solution [21]; it is relatively easy to deposit MPcs films, which adhere well to substrates. As a material requirement, for the most basic architecture of an MPc devices, a transparent substrate is included.…”

“…The latter conclusion is supported by the study of another C 4 h -CuPaz film deposited by drop-casting of benzene solution containing a small amount of 3-dimethylamino-1-propanol (DMAP). Very recently this amino alcohol has been proposed as a multifunctional additive to solutions of unsubstituted ZnPc, allowing one to obtain uniform crystalline deposits of this dye . The drop-cast film of C 4 h -CuPaz is morphologically similar to the LS film but highly resistant to heat treatment because DMAP-modified lamellas cling to the polar glass surface.…”

“…Combining two MPc’s properly, one might create a stable hybrid phase as a physical substitute for the disordered dye matter unacceptable in thin-film materials. From the practical standpoint, highly dispersed unsubstituted ZnPc appears to be a good low-cost candidate for a main component, while tailor-made MPc’s of the AAAB structural type , appear to be promising as a structural modifier. Very recently a similar approach has been proposed to obtain organic semiconductors with advanced electrooptic properties …”

“…Recently, Borovkov et al reported that a mixture of a π-accepting solvent such as chlorobenzene and a nitrogenous base such as triethylamine dissolves ZnPc to make a clear solution with molecular dispersion. 59 In addition, we demonstrated that the side group of the hydrophobic chain affects the aggregating behavior of ZnPc in the polymer micelles. 60 These two findings inspired us to investigate the molecular dispersion of ZnPc in polymer micelles with the hydrophobic chains consisting of repeating units with aromatic rings and tertiary amines.…”
