“…Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has both been shown to trigger and treat EPD [63,64]. A case series using aminolevulinic acid PDT was successful in treating 8 patients [65]. The authors of the study concluded that PDT with methyl aminolevulinate should be avoided because its increased lipophilic property and longer incubation period may have contributed to toxicity in their patients, thus triggering EPD.…”
