Aminophylline for treating asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Abstract: Aminophylline is a complex of theophylline and ethylenediamine. Its main pharmacological action is relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle. Two meta-analyses examining the efficacy of aminophylline in acute asthma attacks in children and in adults have been reported by the Cochrane Collaboration.
