“…Importation of E. histolytica by asymptomatic individuals returning from overseas with secondary infection of close contacts is possible 4 . Whether this explains the rare sporadic cases of locally acquired invasive disease 3,5,6 is unknown, but should be investigated in any case seen when there is no history of travel.…”
