Abstract: In serendipity, N,N′-disubstituted-dihydrodibenzo[a,c]phenazines was discovered to exhibit intriguing photophysical properties including dual fluorescence, large Stokes shift and responsiveness to ambient conditions (polarity, viscosity, etc.), which inspired us to take in-depth research into it.
