An AC–DC PFC Single-Stage Dual Inductor Current-Fed Push–Pull for HB-LED Lighting Applications

Abstract: An ac-dc single-stage driver for High Brightness Light-Emitting Diodes with galvanic isolation is presented in this paper. The driver is based on a Dual Inductor Current-Fed Push-Pull converter with each inductor operating in Boundary Conduction Mode. The interleaving between the two inductors enables the converter to reduce the high input current ripple inherent to a BCM. Moreover, it is fully compliant with IEC 1000-3-2 Class C and it is able to achieve a high Power Factor. Its low component count, simplicit… Show more

“…Nonetheless, some works of single-stage ac-dc currentfed isolated converters have been proposed in literature, such as, a current-fed push-pull [135], see Fig. 11, a dual inductor current-fed push-pull [136], or a current-fed full-bridge [137]. In the previous literature, the use of these topologies to implement ac-dc LED drivers can be found, particularly a push-pull converter in [138] and a dual inductor current-fed push-pull in [136].…”

In the previous literature, the use of these topologies to implement ac-dc LED drivers can be found, particularly a push-pull converter in [138] and a dual inductor current-fed push-pull in [136]. The first proposal does not address any of the aforementioned issues, achieving a very low efficiency while suffering at the same time from high voltage stress on the main switches.…”

“…Such ripple minimization methods were discussed in recent research articles The single‐stage LED driver has been examined for a long time, which comprises of a PFC stage and a dc‐dc converter by sharing dynamic control switches and control circuits . Among these single‐stage converters, series‐parallel resonant circuit (also known as LLC) is a broadly utilized topology for its delicate exchanging qualities.…”

[9][10][11][12][13][14][15] Among these single-stage converters, seriesparallel resonant circuit (also known as LLC) is a broadly utilized topology for its delicate exchanging qualities. In those places where the line voltage is 220-230 V ac, it is important to reduce the amplitude of the dc transport voltage.…”
