“…We concentrated on catalogues and summarising papers of saproxylic beetle families, but new descriptions of species and papers presenting species records were also analysed. A number of published works dealing with a few saproxylic beetle families in Israel were used for the analysis: Halperin and Damoiseau (1980) for Bostrychidae, Halperin and Argaman (2000) and Volkovitsh (2004) for Buprestidae, Sama et al (2010) and Halperin and Holzschuh (1993) for Cerambycidae, Gerstmeier et al (1999) for Cleridae, Halperin and Holzschuh (1984) for Scolytidae.
