The increasing role of Indonesian academic digital libraries in research support services has the consequences of changing the business process. Business process reengineering (BPR) needs to be implemented with business models and business processes that have been developed. Successful implementation requires appropriate strategies according to specific characteristics. This study aims to develop a BPR implementation strategy for improving research support services in Indonesian academic digital libraries. The study is qualitative research with a grounded theory method (GTM) approach. Interviews were conducted with four academic library managers with predetermined characteristics. Coding, memoing, and constant comparison are looping data analyses to achieve data saturation. Strategy recommendations and related issues are mapped in a diagram. This research has designed 36 strategies to address issues arising in implementing BPR in Indonesian academic libraries. The strategy is unique regarding several issues that have not emerged in previous research. This is triggered by the characteristics of academic libraries as non-profit organizations and the management of research resources that require collaboration between units. The main issues that arise are staff awareness, improvement motivation, gradual implementation, limited resources, lack of cooperation, lack of top management support and communication, limited budget, and monitoring and evaluation. In contrast to previous studies conducted on BPR implementation strategy in profit organizations, this study designed the implementation strategy of BPR for nonprofit organizations, especially for academic digital libraries towards research support services.

PurposeThis research focuses on the implementation of Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory management, drawing on a case study of a commercial livestock farm located in a swampy area of southern Nigeria.Design/methodology/approachThe research adopts a qualitative approach. Interviews and workshops were used for data collection.FindingsFindings from the study reveal that the commitment on the internal organisational members and skilful collaboration with supply chain partners are required for effective use of JIT, especially in an odd contextual situation such as the case in this study. This also justifies the embraced of additional cost of securing JIT inventory management practices such as the situation in the case study organisation that could not allow conventional inventory management.Originality/valueIt is suggested for further research to consider the topic from a mixed method approach as well as extend the focus on the possibility of legal regulations and government support to exceptional operational practices among organisations, especially those in the context of the food production sector, where this research was based.

Effective inventory management is crucial for pharmacies because it guarantees the consistent availability of pharmaceutical products and minimizes the risk of stickouts or overstock situations, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction. This study aimed to determine the inventory management practices of small-scale pharmacies in selected towns in Cavite, Philippines. The researchers employed descriptive research and a purposive sampling technique. This study used 50 legally registered small-scale pharmacies. The findings revealed that most of the participants were under sole proprietorship with one to nine employees and estimated assets of P3,000,000 and below and have been in operation for one to three years and ten years and above. Furthermore, the predominant inventory management practice in terms of sourcing is Economic Order Quantity (EOQ). Fast Moving, Slow Moving, Non-Moving (FSN) Analysis, and First Expiry, First Out (FEFO) are common storage methods. Moreover, First Expiry, First Out (FEFO) is frequently utilized in selling. This study may provide related, timely information, analysis, and results that may serve as a foundation for the business to grasp on what to continue, enhance, and implement in their inventory management practice, which might also contribute to the efficient and effective movement of products and to cater to the needs of the customers. Thus, the researchers recommended modifying the existing inventory management practices employed in sourcing, storing, and selling. This adaptation aims to effectively monitor and control the movement of inventories from the moment of acquisition to the moment of transaction.
