“…Paraneoplastic syndromes triggered by GISTs are rare, but cases of hypoglycemia, hypercalcemia { Tsikrikas et al, 2009 }, hypothyroidism { Patial et al, 2017 }, and hyponatremia have been described { Bonato et al, 2012 }. Even fewer references to neurological paraneoplastic syndromes are found in the literature but include one case each of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), encephalitis, and headache with diplopia { Chen et al, 2017 ; Catedral et al, 2019 ; Guirgis and Holcombe, 2004 }. In these cases, the paraneoplastic nature of the neurological symptoms were determined clinically by symptom resolution with immunotherapy in the cases of GBS and encephalitis and the temporal relationship between neurological symptoms and disease progression in the latter.…”
