Abstract:Emphysematous pyelonephritis is an acute necrotizing infection of the renal parenchyma, collecting system, and surrounding perinephric tissue, characterized by the presence of gas within these locations on imaging. It is associated with high mortality rates and is often found in diabetic patients.
