An audit of patient satisfaction

Abstract: The Manchester Diabetes Centre was opened in March 1988 to replace the traditional diabetic clinic at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. In order to audit the effect of this move on the satisfaction of patients, surveys were undertaken both before and after the move. Patients questioned in the Diabetes Centre were significantly more satisfied with the organisation, waiting times, environment, clinical care, education and relationships with staff than those questioned in the traditional clinic.
