Abstract:Oesophageal strictures (OSs) are common in resource-poor countries. In children, OSs may result from surgery to the oesophagus, such as repair of oesophageal atresia, or following repeated sclerotherapy for oesophageal varices; however, OSs are most commonly caused by chemical injuries.
