An autonomic control system for high-reliable CPS

Abstract: Cyber-physical systems (CPS) are composed of collaborating computational elements that control physical entities. The human desire to acquire useful information and to automatically control devices anytime and anywhere has increased the necessity to develop systems with high reliability. However, the CPS associated with the physical world and cyber world involve managing complexity and incurring the respective maintenance costs, such that it has been impossible to produce systems that are completely reliable. … Show more

“…For cloud-based SCPS, VM-based resources isolation can significantly simplify the fault isolation approaches [45,47,49]. Ruleor knowledge-based fault diagnosis and reasoning show good results in fixed or rarely changed environments [59]. Expert systems are a systematic dependability solution [208].…”

“…Self-management is a more detailed proposal for AC systems, which includes four subcategories: self-configuring , self-healing , self-optimizing and self-protecting [ 11 ]. More and more studies try to introduce self-management (or AC) into CPS to improve the flexibility and adaptability [ 12 , 13 ], and the dependability [ 14 , 15 ]. Warriach et al expanded the categories of self-management with a set of self-* abilities, including self-healing , self-protection , self-awareness , self-organizing , self-synchronization and self-configuration , and analyzed both functional and nonfunctional requirements of self-healing in smart environment applications [ 16 ].…”

“…Many CPS systems are designed to improve existing technologies, leading to a high level of innovation PARK et al, 2015). The innovative aspect of the CPS systems either as enablers of new technology or as proof of concept may requires the participation of large and heterogeneous teams.…”

“…A concept map is offered by Lee et al to illustrate the converging areas and concerns regarding CPS [16]. Some examples of CPS application can be seen in [17], [18] and [19]. From here on, this paper refers CPS and other similar systems approaches as only CPS, unless otherwise stated.…”
