Elli beş yaşında Türk vatandaşı olan erkek, Ekvator Ginesi'nden otopsi için gönderilmiştir. “…In the present case, a postmortem diagnosis of cerebral malaria with multiple organ failure due to malaria infection was observed. Similar autopsy diagnoses of undiagnosed or misdiagnosed malaria cases with cerebral involvement were described in the literature (Kain et al 2001;Muehlethaler et al 2005;Alunni-Perret et al 2010;Checkley et al 2012;Ajili et al 2013;Yağmur et al 2015;Féron et al 2017). To the best of our knowledge, the reported case is one of the rarest autopsy discoveries of CM in Tunisia.…”

“…Cerebral malaria, renal malaria, and pulmonary malaria are the three most common causes of sudden death in adults with a severe form of Plasmodium falciparum (Peoc'h et al 2000;Yapo Ette et al 2002;Muehlethaler et al 2005;Alunni-Perret et al 2010;Prat et al 2013;Yağmur et al 2015). Many factors play specific but interlinked roles in the pathophysiology of CM, characterized by the sequestration of parasitized erythrocytes in the brain microvessels and the resulting metabolic and immune disorders.…”
