“…11). These are illustrated here because they are comparable to specimens illustrated by DiMichele et al (2000) from the late Early Permian of West Texas, which were not identifed, but which possibly are Supaia and occur in near-shore environments in association with Taeniopteris, Delnortea, and the likely peltasperm, Comia. White (1929) characterized Supaia as a complex of small, "herbaceous" plants.…”

“…The as-yet-undescribed Upper Pease River flora is quite limited in composition, with cordaitean material most conspicuous and minor representatives of calamites, gigantopterids, and pteridophylls. The flora of the Del Norte mountains is species poor and dominated by the gigantopterid genus Delnortea, a flora possibly characteristic of coastal regions (DiMichele et al, 2000). The lower Pease River flora indicates that the radiation of major Mesozoic seed-plant-lineages was well advanced by the Early Permian.…”

“…The presence of Calnalia and other taxa yet to be described in the Sierra Madre terrane reinforces this model. Preliminary surveys of at least six localities in the Tuzancoa Formation suggest similarities with Permian floras of Texas (DiMichele et al, 2000(DiMichele et al, , 2001. Furthermore, walchian conifer remains found in Texas resemble typical Lebachioid conifers and Walchian Voltziales (DiMichele et al, 2000(DiMichele et al, , 2001Looy, 2007Looy, , 2007a.…”
