An easily organic–inorganic hybrid optical sensor based on dithizone impregnation on mesoporous SBA‐15 for simultaneous detection and removal of Pb(II) ions from water samples: Response‐surface methodology

Abstract: In this study, a novel organic-inorganic hybrid adsorbent for single-step detection and removal of Pb(II) ions based on dithizone (DZ) anchored on mesoporous SBA-15 was fabricated. The designed solid optical sensor revealed rapid colorimetric responses and high selectivity. Central composite design (CCD) combined with desirability function (DF) was applied to evaluate the interactive effects and optimization of important variables such as pH value, mesoporous SBA-15 dosage, contact time and initial concentrati… Show more

“…Kinetic models based on Elovich, pseudo first and second‐order and intraparticle diffusion give good knowledge about the rate and mechanism of an adsorption process. In the pseudo‐first‐order model, by plotting of the log (qe‐qt) versus t, k 1 and qe values can be calculated by slop and intercept of this plot, respectively (See Table ) . The distance among experimental qe value with intercept indicate that this model not suitable to explain experimental data.…”

“…The CCD method using Statistica 10.0.228.8 software was used for the estimation, optimization and interactive effects of adsorption parameters on removal of SO dye from aqueous solution. [24][25][26][27] The present CCD was based on various parameters affecting the ultrasonic-assisted removal efficiency, including initial concentration of SO (X 1 ), pH (X 2 ), amount of adsorbent (X 3 ) and sonication time (X 4 ), in randomized fashion to minimize the effects of the uncontrolled factors. Therefore, a five-level CCD was performed to evaluate the influence of these quantities on removal efficiency ( Table 1).…”
