An eco-evo-devo genetic network model of stress response

Abstract: The capacity of plants to resist abiotic stresses is of great importance to agricultural, ecological and environmental sustainability, but little is known about its genetic underpinnings. Existing genetic tools can identify individual genetic variants mediating biochemical, physiological, and cellular defenses, but fail to chart an overall genetic atlas behind stress resistance. We view stress response as an eco-evo-devo process by which plants adaptively respond to stress through complex interactions of devel… Show more

“…Currently, mining QTL‐by‐environment interactions (QEI) by GWAS is a prevalent approach to study G by E. It is possible to develop a framework for gene discovery underlying phenotypic plasticity by integrating reaction norms environment indexes across environments into GWAS (Li et al, 2018b; Li et al, 2022c). There is an emerging trend to systematically dissect the genetic architecture of phenotypic plasticity by coalescing all genes into genetic interaction networks (Yang et al, 2021; Feng et al, 2022). In crops, EXTRA GLUME1 ( EG1 ) controls floral robustness responses to temperature fluctuation in rice (Zhang et al, 2016).…”

“…The protocol can be used in any other spatial microbial data, such as multi-location soil microbiota, multi-location oceanic microbiota and so forth. idopNetwork is alternative to FunGraph that intends to reconstruct genetic interaction networks with dynamic phenotypic data and genotypic data from genetic association studies (Dong et al, 2021;Feng et al, 2021Feng et al, , 2022Sun et al, 2021;Wang et al, 2021;Yang et al, 2021). The current version of idopNetwork can be modified to improve the parameter estimation of qdODEs by implementing more sophisticated statistical approaches.…”

“…Интеграция исследований по биологии развития и экологии в эволюционную теорию привела к возникновению относительно новой области знаний -экологической эволюционной биологии развития (ecological evolutionary developmental biology, Eco-Evo-Devo) (85). В целом принципы эволюции биосферы одинаковы -дифференциации и кооперации, и доместикация -частный случай этого процесса.…”
