Abstract:We consider the virtual topology and traffic routing (VTTR) problem, a subproblem of traffic grooming that arises as a fundamental network design problem in optical networks. The objective of VTTR is to determine the minimum number of lightpaths so as to satisfy a set of traffic demands, and does not take into account physical layer constraints; a routing and wavelength assignment (RWA) algorithm must reconcile the virtual topology obtained by VTTR with the physical topology. We propose an efficient algorithms… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
