“…This kind of algorithm mainly used the transformation matrix like magic cube transformation and Arnold cat map to permutation, and then used the chaotic system for diffusion. (2) The image encryption scheme that is based on deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) encoding and chaotic system [7][8][9]. In this kind of scheme, the authors usually used DNA rules to encode the plain-image and controlled permutation and diffusion process on encoded data by the chaotic system.…”

“…Permutation-diffusion is a classical structure for image encryption based on chaotic systems [16], and the permutation stage is divided into pixel-level and bit-level, and bit-level permutation has good encryption effect compared with pixel-level permutation because bit-level permutation can modify the pixel value, while pixel-level permutation only changes the pixel position. Zheng et al adopted a pixel-level fast permutation method [17], which can simultaneously permute the rows and columns coordinates of images and achieved good encryption efficiency, but is vulnerable to differential attacks. Some bit-level based image encryption methods have also been proposed, with different encryption algorithms, but all of them only permute the 8 bit binary number of a single pixel point, so that the weight of bit bits 0 and 1 of a pixel point remains unchanged [18,19].…”

“…Gehani et al [20] set the DNA cryptography foundation using molecular approach and one-time pad concept, which has perfect privacy. Later then, after Gehani approach, numerous image encryption algorithms based on DNA cryptography emerged among the public [21][22][23][24][25][26]. Zhang et al [27] proposed an algorithm, which disturb the locations and values of the pixels using chaotic system and applying DNA cryptography, where the pseudo-DNA operations are controlled by the quaternary chaotic sequences.…”
