One of the most challenging steps in preparing for dermatologic operations on the scalp can be securing a clean surgical field without long and messy hair. Hairs in the surgical field can complicate suturing and lead to lack of cleanliness and, potentially, surgical site infection. Therefore, shaving or trimming hairs around the lesion is necessary before surgery. Using a clipper to cut hair without touching skin instead of a razor can minimize irritation and surgical site infection. 1 However, during scalp surgery, because children have difficulty being motionless under local anesthesia, long and messy hairs can enter the surgical field, making it difficult to maintain a sterile field. Surgeons often try to cover the hair with a surgical drape, use a moist sterile gauze swab or fix and fasten hair with adhesive tape or duckbill clips. But it is difficult to fasten long hair with a movable surgical drape or a moist gauze swab and to painlessly
