An Electronically Controlled 8-Element <newline/>Switched Beam Planar Array

Abstract: An 8-element planar antenna array with electronically controlled switchable-beam pattern is proposed. The planar antenna array consists of patch elements and operates in the 2.45 GHz ISM band. The array is integrated with a digitally controlled feed network that provides the required phases to generate 8-fixed beams covering most of the upper hemisphere of the array. Unlike typical switchable beam antenna arrays which operate only in one plane, the proposed design is the first to provide full 3D switchable bea… Show more

“…Make the assumption that it randomly generates 12000 sent data at the sending part, the Monte Carlo number is 100, the period of m sequence is 512, and the sensing module can obtain the interference range accurately. In the typical application of cognitive anti-interference TDCS communication [ 37 , 38 ], TDCS-MIMO communication and the DSSS anti-interference method mainly adopted by UAV measurement and control link are compared with this method [ 39 , 40 ]. In the simulation, all methods send the same code data, in which DSSS amplification gain is 512 times.…”

“…To realize ESAAs in the microwave frequency range, a widely adopted approach integrates solid-state phase shifters [4,13,14], radiofrequency (RF) switches [9,15,16], p-i-n and Schottky diodes [17][18][19][20], varactors [21][22][23], etc., within each antenna element. Such integration adds functionality to the sensing element (e.g., frequency conversion, tunable phase delay), but it does not resolve the problems arising when multiplexing hundreds of such sensors to the transmitting/receiving circuitry as well as the digital control circuitry.…”
