This paper collects the results obtained in preceding investigations on the compression of 1‐bromoalkanes from C2 to C7 in their liquid state. The validity of the compression equations within the explored pressure and temperature ranges is discussed and a linear equation is derived which permits the prediction of the molar volumes of i‐bromoalkanes as a function of the chain length. The anharmonicity of the intermolecular vibrations becomes predominant from a given pressure and influences the aspect of the isobars. This pressure is also that for which the values of ∂U/∂P and Cp — Cv are constant and is a feature of the liquid.
