Abstract: We propose an experimental study on the gravitational settling velocity of dense, sub-Kolmogorov inertial particles under different background turbulent flows. We report phase Doppler particle analyser measurements in a low-speed wind tunnel uniformly seeded with micrometre scale water droplets.
