Recently, the major challenging attack is the side channel attack for both symmetric and asymmetric algorithm. Because in both cases, the secret key has to be sent out via a safe secured channel. The advanced encryption standard (AES) is mentioned as the best standard encryption algorithm by the US government, but there is one major attack on the AES that is the brute force attack. So, how to rule out these kinds of attack and how it is implemented effectively in hardware are being discussed in this paper. The honey encryption scheme is an effective algorithm, and it is also being discussed. In this paper, the detailed description of the AES and the methods to improve its speed and how it is integrated with the honey technique have been discussed. The different kinds of attacks and the various solutions are discussed for both of the algorithms. A survey of papers which has used these algorithms for various reasons with different perspective has been given. The honey algorithm creates the fake message for the wrong try of the key puncher. Thus, this is considered as the best algorithm, but it is also has some disadvantages that is also focussed in our survey. Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Security plays an vital role in wireless sensor networks. Since the nodes are deployed in the physical environment, Hackers may easily access the data. In order to provide security, The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm has developed into an option for various security services. Non-Linear arrangements or mechanism of S-Box and RCON of this implementation algorithm is to provide a physically powerful cryptography technology in wireless sensor networks. Initially generate the private and public key for each user and signature verification can be done. This non-linearity provides high degree of security while transmitting data in the wireless sensor networks.

This paper presents analysis of network data encryption and decryption techniques used in communication systems. In network communication systems, exchange of information mostly occurs on networked computers, mobile phones and other internet based electronic gadgets. Unsecured data that travels through different networks are open to many types of attack and can be read, altered or forged by anyone who has access to that data. To prevent such an attack, data encryption and decryption technique is employed. In order to visualize the effect and evaluate the performance of the encryption and decryption of each technique used in communication systems, Visual Basic simulation program that encrypt and decrypt data were developed, written and tested. Different data block sizes were captured and plotted against total time response taken during data encryption using Microsoft Excel. The graph result shows the superiority of RSA and AES algorithms over other algorithms in terms of the processing speed and time. DES has worm holes in its security mechanism whereas Blowfish, AES, and RSA do not have any. Further analysis was made based on the graph result obtained on each data encryption techniques.
