An Improved Method to Obtain Fish Weight Using Machine Learning and NIR Camera with Haar Cascade Classifier

Abstract: The calculation of weight and mass in aquaculture systems is of great importance, since with this task, it is decided when to harvest; generally, the above is manipulating the body manually, which causes stress in the fish body. Said stress can be maintained in the fish body for several hours. To solve this problem an improved method was implemented using artificial intelligence, near-infrared spectroscopy camera, Haar classifiers, and a mathematical model. Hardware and software were designed to get a photogra… Show more

“…A face can be found in an image using the Haar cascade algorithm. For the Haar cascade algorithm to be trained, positive images with faces and images without faces are required [4]. The advantage of this method is that it produces a distinctive impact by identifying the edge line features displayed in Fig.…”

“…In this paper, we train our model using a transfer‐learning algorithm ResNet152V2 and the haar cascade classifier (Javed Mehedi Shamrat et al, 2022; Lopez‐Tejeida et al, 2022; Martínez‐Zarzuela et al, 2011) for detecting the face. In the proposed system, we explain how this system will collectively work and suggest how to translate it for GPU execution.…”
