An improved model for the directional sensitivity of single yawed hot-wire probes

Abstract: In this note we adopt the semi-empirical laws of King and Jørgensen to model the angular voltage output response of a single yawed hot-wire probe placed in a flow perpendicular to its axis. As in our previous work, the King exponent n is reformed into the parameter in an expression for orientation effects. The result is a model of the voltage output response, accurate to a few per cent over the whole range of orientation angles.
