Abstract:The application of controllable shunt compensation by magnetic biased type controllable shunt reactors (CSR) is considered for improving the properties of long-length transmission lines by giving the example of Russian North-West 330 kV Kola-Karelian Interconnection. The reactive power consumed by CSRs in any operation condition is coordinated with the power flow through the line and voltage drop across the lines. The transfer capability is limited only by permissible current through the conductors. The invest… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
