An inflammation-related signature could predict the prognosis of patients with kidney renal clear cell carcinoma

Abstract: Background: Kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC) is an inflammation-related carcinoma, and inflammation has been recognized as an important factor in inducing carcinogenesis. To further explore the role of inflammation in KIRC, we developed an inflammation-related signature and verified its correlation with the tumor micro-environment.Methods: After the differential inflammation-related prognostic genes were screened by Lasso regression, the inflammation-related signature (IRS) was constructed based on the… Show more

“…The Cancer Genome Atlas ( www.gdc.cancer.gov , TCGA) 24 repository provided both the expression and clinical data encompassing BC tissues and adjacent non-tumor tissues. Then, the ‘limma’ package was employed to compare ADRM1 expression between 19 adjacent non-tumor samples and 414 BC samples, as previous description 26 . At same time, an investigation into ADRM1 expression in pan-cancer was undertaken.…”

“…These disruptions can foster cancer initiation through mechanisms such as metabolic disorders, DNA damage, and cellular senescence [9]. Furthermore, circadian disruptions influence cancer progression by modulating inflammatory responses, stem cell growth, and treatment efficacy [10][11][12]. For example, in gastric cancer, modulating the expression of clock genes reversed trastuzumab resistance [13].…”

“…Nevertheless, the effectiveness of the current treatment is far from satisfactory. Under the guidance of precision medicine, doctors try to find new targets to cure KIRC and choose the optimal treatment for KIRC patients by screening powerful biomarkers (Yu et al, 2022).…”
