An Innovative Integrated Asset Modeling for an Offshore-Onshore Field Development. Tomoporo Field Case

Abstract: A reliable future development plan of an oilfield would require that all of the elements in the petroleum system are modeled in an integrated manner if a timely response, a more realistic economical evaluation, and risk analysis are needed for better decisions making. The main goal for future development of Tomoporo field is to change the traditional focus (petroleum system elements by separated) by enabling to multidisciplinary team members to take advantage of their expertises within a collabo… Show more

“…Khedr et al (2009) presented an application and validation of IAM tool to a giant offshore oil field, located northwest of Abu Dhabi Island that is one of the largest offshore fields in the world. Perez et al (2012) presented an implementation of IAM for an offshore-onshore development of Tomoporo field. An integrated asset model was developed and used as opposed to the traditional method of running separate simulation models assuming fixed boundary conditions at the wellhead.…”

“…This integrated asset approach ensured that the interactions among all components were correctly simulated, and the value of multiple development options or operating scenarios were compared and maximized with inclusion of economic indicators such as net present value (NPV) and investment efficiency (Perez et al 2012;Espinola et al 2014). The work presented in the next section encompasses the use of various numerical simulation software applications working together in one single simulation environment which allows logical connections, constraints and optimization routines to be implemented; sensitivity analysis on different elements of the asset and evaluation of any possible impacts among the studied elements (such as manifold choke sizing and gas lifting parameters).…”
