High-voltage circuit breakers are one of the most critical switching components in power systems, and their operating status directly affects the stability and reliability of the entire power system. Therefore, timely monitoring of circuit breaker breaking time and accurate assessment of circuit breaker breaking capability are the guarantees for the normal operation of power system. Considering the importance and limited downtime of 500kV and above lines, this paper proposes a customized non-contact monitoring method based on the actual operating parameters and structure evaluation of a hydropower station circuit breaker, which realizes the real-time monitoring of key parameters such as displacement stroke signal, coil current signal, energy storage motor current signal, etc. Based on the establishment of electromagnet model, the current equation of equivalent circuit is derived, and the time and amplitude characteristics of double-peak waveform of control coil current are analyzed. By analyzing the timing signal curve, various characteristic parameters related to circuit breaker action characteristics are extracted, which provide reference for further performance evaluation, design optimization and fault diagnosis.
