An Introduction to Evolutionary Optimization for Microwave Engineering

Abstract: This article overviews the fundamentals of evolutionary optimization as compared with conventional optimization techniques. We introduce evolutionary concepts through the simple genetic algorithm (SGA), particle swarm optimization (PSO), and present introductory examples demonstrating their use in microwave engineering.
