E-Procurement Adoption: A Case Study about the Role of Two Italian Advisory Services

This paper aims to analyze e-procurement adoption projects with specific focus on the Italian market. E-procurement adoption is critical for organizations, both for its internal efficiency and for the deep impact on sustainability issues. E-procurement adoption, however, is a complex journey as its implementation deals with various obstacles and the adoption costs can limit the overall organizational performance. Advisory services can support organizations in reaching the overall benefits of the e-procurement solution also by reducing the setbacks related to low technology literacy of end-users. Accordingly, we analyze adoption of e-procurement, its main variables and outputs, by focusing on a comparative case study based on an exploratory-inductive investigation of two Italian leading providers. The data have been collected through primary (semistructured interviews) and secondary (companies’ internal documents and companies’ websites) sources. Results highlight that when firms decide to adopt e-procurement, advisory services have an enabling role that can support them into implementation, and particularly for overcoming barriers and helping them to achieve the expected benefits.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) practices on triple bottom line (TBL) measures from the perspective of organisational theories. This study identified five SSCM practices using a comprehensive literature review and feedback from industry experts. These five practices were prioritised using a fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP). The results from FAHP analysis were further confirmed by conducting semi-structured interviews in five electronics parts/components manufacturing organisations. This study also prioritised theoretical drivers of SSCM adoption based on the consideration of three organisational theory perspectives -Institutional Theory; Resource-based View, and; Social Network Theory. The results indicate that the economic dimension was the most important measure for implementing SSCM while sustainable design was the most important SSCM practice for achieving the TBL. The study also found that Institutional Theory is the most important theoretical driver for implementing SSCM. The research findings provide insight for management to allocate necessary resources and to develop effective strategic directions for the implementation of SSCM practices.

Tehnološki napredak uslovio je porastdominantnosti mobilnih platformi za obavljanje računarskihposlova. Zbog svoje portabilnosti, odličnog odnosacena/performanse i široke dostupnosti, pametni telefoni postali suključni akteri u izvršenju modernog elektronskog poslovanja.Uzimajući u obzir veliku količinu podataka koja se pomoću njihmože sakupiti i obraditi u svrhe kvalitetnijeg života ljudi, mestomobilnog poslovanja u konceptu pametnih gradova je i te kakoznačajno. U radu su, pored tehnoloških i pravnih aspekatamobilnog poslovanja, izloženi i detalji o njegovom značaju upametnim gradovima. Data je analiza trenutnog stepenarazvijenosti komponenti u Republici Srbiji, koje su ključne zarealizaciju ideje o pametnim gradovima, a zasnivaju se nainterakciji sa mobilnom uređajima. Ukazano je na prednostiovakvog vida interakcije, ali i na njihova ograničenja, pa su uskladu sa tim dati saveti za prevazilaženje i umanjivanje istih.
