An Investigation of Stormwater Quality Variation within an Industry Sector Using the Self-Reported Data Collected under the Stormwater Monitoring Program

Abstract: Storm runoff pollutants are among the major sources of surface water impairments, globally. Despite several monitoring programs and guidance on stormwater management practices, there are many streams still impaired by urban runoff. This study evaluates an industry sector’s pollutant discharge characteristics using the self-reported data collected under Tennessee Multi Sector Permit program. The stormwater pollutant discharge characteristics were analyzed from 2014 to 2018 for an industry sector involving twelv… Show more

“…This suggests that possible chemical interactions between Cr(VI) oxyanions and protonated amino/amidine surface on APAN control the adsorption rate. 52 Our results are supported by other published literature that reported the second order kinetic model for Cr(VI) adsorption by amino-functionalized nanoparticles. 8,21,52 The ion exchange, electrostatic attraction, hydrogen bonding, and coordination interaction between HCrO 4 À and amino functions were reported as effective mechanisms leading to Cr(VI) removal from aqueous solution by amino-functionalized adsorbent materials.…”

“…The potential runoff spread in different scale of sub-catchments was investigated. Although such data could be easily gathered in small areas, this task could be time-consuming for larger study sites, remaining as a challenge if upscaling of the results is planned [53]. Nevertheless, these methods require a high-resolution surface topography data and satellite images [54].…”

“…The result of their work is directly policy-relevant because it will be integrated into a new national standard. Salehi et al [22] evaluated the pollutant discharge characteristics for 12 facilities in an industry sector in the United States. They applied principal component analysis to water quality parameters and developed water quality indexes to monitor water quality fluctuations.…”
