“…CADI consists of a certain amount of carbides in the typical ausferritic matrix; the carbides can help to improve the wear resistance. Presently, CADI has attracted intensive attention in many areas such as railway, mining industry, and defense structures [4][5][6][7][8].…”

“…The desired properties not only include good wear resistance but also excellent corrosion resistance [7][8][9][10]. Molybdenum has been considered as an effective alloying element to improve mechanical properties of ultrahigh carbon steel by solution strengthening, refining grain size, and forming carbides [11].…”

“…It has some advantages such as high performance–price ratio, good wear resistance, excellent fatigue strength, high elastic limit, and high yield limit, which attracted extensive attention of researchers . Researchers study different parameters of heat treatment trying to improve the mechanical properties of CADI . Dakre et al studied the effect of austenitization temperature on CADI and found the fine carbides were dispersively distributed in matrix when the austenitizing temperature was 1173 K. In addition, the hardness of samples austenitized at 1173 K was slightly more than austenitized at 1248 K. The high wear resistance and corrosion resistance were obtained for Mo‐bearing ductile iron austenitized at 1173 K for 5400 s…”
