Abstract:The article is devoted to the development of legislation on pre-trial proceedings in criminal cases in the post-Soviet countries. Changes in the rights of the defence during the preliminary investigation of these countries are considered. The lack of a link between the actions of the investigating judge and the competitiveness of preliminary investigation is shown.
