An <i>In Silico</i> Analysis Identified Members of the Pleckstrin Homology-Like Domain, Family B (PHLDB family) as Potential Prognostic and Predictive Biomarkers of Treatment Response in Breast Cancer Patients

Abstract

The pleckstrin homology-like domain, family b (PHLDB) family of genes are differentially expressed in tumor and normal breast tissues. •Members of the PHLDB family are potential markers for predicting the development of lymph node metastasis and poor clinical outcome.• Reduced expression of PHLDB 1, 2, and 3 mRNA was associated with decreased overall and recurrence-free survival rates in breast cancer patients.• There is a possible relationship between PHLDB family member expression and response to endocrine therapy and to anti-HER2 antibodies.
