Abstract: RationaleCritically ill patients who develop invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA) have high mortality rates despite antifungal therapy. Diagnosis is difficult in these patients. Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid galactomannan (GM) is a helpful marker of infection, although the optimal cutoff for IPA is unclear.
