An octanuclear MnIII4DyIII4 cluster connected via two μ₅-NO₃⁻ bridges with slow relaxation of magnetization

Abstract

Dark brown crystals of [Mn4Dy4(mbm)14 (μ5‐NO3)2 (μ‐NO3)2(MeOH)2] (NO3)6·12H2O (mbm: (1‐methyl‐benzoimidazol‐2‐yl)methanolate) are obtained from 1:2 solutions of MeOH/MeCN containing Mn(ClO4)2, Dy(NO3)2, Hmbm, and triethylamine (25 °C, 14 d, 35% yield).
