An Open-Source Test Environment for Effective Development of MARG-Based Algorithms

Abstract: This paper presents an open-source environment for development, tuning, and performance evaluation of magnetic, angular rate, and gravity-based (MARG-based) filters, such as pose estimators and classification algorithms. The environment is available in both ROS/Gazebo and MATLAB/Simulink, and it contains a six-degrees of freedom (6 DOF) test bench, which simultaneously moves and rotates an MARG unit in the three-dimensional (3D) space. As the quality of MARG-based estimation becomes crucial in dynamic situatio… Show more

“…mother Wavelets are Meyer, Daubechies, Coiflets, Symlets, Biortoganales, Morlet, and Mexican Hat. The use of WTs has increased in recent years due to its advantages for working with non-stationary signals, one of the main applications is in clinical EEG, but they are also found in the analysis of structures or robotics [80]- [89].…”

“…This orientation filter is characterized by core parameters that determine the state estimation convergence; therefore, the filter parameters should be carefully chosen to ensure accurate state measurements. An efficient approach to evaluate the filter performance and to tune the filter parameters is proposed in [20].…”

“…The case of second-order transfer functions is unique since they represent a large number of physical systems. For example, investigations [ 11 , 12 , 13 , 14 , 15 ] work with systems described by a second-order transfer function.…”
